The
JPMorgan Chase Building was built by Jesse H. Jones in 1929. Formerly,
the building was known as the Gulf Building and the Texas Commerce Bank
Building. The building, which is listed in the National Register of Historic
Places, is located in the central business district of Houston. Standing
at the corner of Main St. and Rusk Avenue, in the heart of Houston's financial
district, the building is 36 stories high and clad in Indiana limestone.
Traveling from the Conroe/Woodlands/FM
1960/Intercontinental Airport area to downtown:
Take I-45 south. Take the I-10 east exit - Exit 48A - on the left toward
Beaumont. Take the Milam St. exit on the left toward downtown. Stay straight
and go onto N. Milam St. Turn left onto Rusk Avenue. You will pass Travis.
The JPMorgan Chase Building is located on your left at the corner of Main
St. and Rusk Avenue.
Traveling from the Galveston/LaMarque/NASA
area to downtown:
Take I-45 north. Take the Scott St./downtown exit, bear right as it empties
onto surface streets, turn right onto Travis, go to Travis and Rusk Avenue.
Turn right onto Rusk Avenue. The JPMorgan Chase Building is located on
your left at the corner of Main St. and Rusk Avenue.
Traveling
from the San Antonio/Katy/West Houston area to downtown:
Take I-10 east. Follow signs to I-10/Beaumont. Stay in the two right lanes
which turn into Smith St. Take the Smith St. exit - Exit 769A - toward
downtown. Turn left onto Rusk Avenue. You will pass Louisiana, Milam and
Travis. The JPMorgan Chase Building is located on your left at the corner
of Main St. and Rusk Avenue.
Traveling from the Beaumont/Baytown/Channelview
area to downtown:
Take I-10 west. Go to the San Jacinto St./Main St. exit. It is a two-lane
exit; keep to your left lane and follow the left lane under the freeway.
You are now on San Jacinto St. which turns into Fannin St. Stay on Fannin
St. to Capitol. Turn right onto Capitol. Turn left onto Main St. The JPMorgan
Chase Building is located on your right at the corner of Main St. and
Rusk Avenue.
Traveling from the Pearland/Manvel/Alvin
area to downtown:
Take Tx-288 north. Take US-59 north. Exit Pierce/Gray St. Turn left on
St. Joseph's Parkway. Turn right on San Jacinto. Turn left on Capitol.
You will pass Fannin St. Turn left onto Main St. The JPMorgan Chase Building
is located on your right at the corner of Main St. and Rusk Avenue.
Traveling from the Cleveland/Kingwood/Humble
area to downtown:
Take US-59 south. Merge into I-10W/US 90 W towards San Antonio, stay in
the right lane. Go to the San Jacinto St./Main St. exit. It is a two lane
exit; keep to your left lane and follow the left lane under the freeway.
You are now on San Jacinto St. which turns into Fannin St. Stay on Fannin
St. to Capitol. Turn right onto Capitol. Turn left onto Main St. The JPMorgan
Chase Building is located on your right at the corner of Main St. and
Rusk Avenue.
Traveling from Victoria/Sugar Land
area to downtown:
Take 59 north. Take the Polk St. exit. Stay on the service road until
you get to Capitol. Turn left onto Capitol. Turn left onto Main St. The
JPMorgan Chase Building is located on your right at the corner of Main
St. and Rusk Avenue.
Traveling from Austin/Highway 6/Jones Road area to downtown:
Take 290 south. Take 610 east. Take I-45 south. Take
the I-10 East exit - Exit 48A - on the left toward Beaumont. Take the
Milam St. exit on the left toward downtown. Stay straight to go onto N.
Milam St. Turn left onto Rusk Avenue. You will pass Travis. The JPMorgan
Chase Building is located on your left at the corner of Main St. and Rusk
Avenue.
There are many parking options since our building is centrally located.
The parking options include the:
Chase Center Garage on Capitol, between Travis and
Main St.;
an AMPCO surface parking lot on Capitol, between Main St. and Fannin;
an AMPCO parking garage on Rusk Avenue, between Travis and Main St.; and
the JPMorgan Chase Parking garage (located in the Houston Club Bldg.)
on Rusk Avenue, between Milam and Travis.
The Chase Center Garage is located one block north of our
building and is connected to it via an underground tunnel. The AMPCO surface
parking lot is the least expensive.
METRORail is a fast, convenient and safe way to travel
between Downtown, Midtown, the Museum District, the Texas Medical Center,
Reliant Park and the South Fannin Park & Ride lot. With frequent service
and the capacity to carry up to 400 passengers per trip, METRORail will
help cut through congestion in these heavily traveled areas. METRORail
runs on Main St., right in front of our building, JPMorgan Chase. It makes
a stop three blocks south of our building at the Main St. Square, between
Walker and Dallas, and it makes a stop three blocks north of our building
at the Preston Stop between Prairie and Congress. METRORail runs approximately
every six minutes between normal office hours. The one-way fare is $1.00.
